SONG
Chosen Song (starts at 0.15): Christy Lova ft Serge Beynaud - Venez Danser/ To Bina (Translation: Let's Dance) Chosen Genre: Decale Ndombolo (of Ivory Coast and Democratic Republic of Congo) Narrative/ Performance Idea:
The main male artist is currently going through a hard time in life, his pain and sorrow come to his attention when he is walking home through the alleyway in the dark. When he gets home, he finds refuge through music and starts being creative finishing off the track he had made with his best mate. After a track has been finished, he imagines the success of the song; invited to open mics and playbacks etc. At the end the video returns into the studio with him contacting his female friend that the video is done.
THE THEME
- Theme: Enjoyment : This theme is portrayed throughout the performance based idea as the male artist finds joy through music and enjoys himself despite his situation. We intend to show this in the music video through bright lightening, light coloured clothes and daylight shots.
- Hope: This theme would be reflected in the narrative idea, as the male and female artist have high hopes that they would make it big with the song. For the male artist, his hope is the distraction from his current situation and gives him a drive for success.
LYRICS
Lyrics: The lyrics are in French, Lingala and a bit of English. The lyrics are basically telling the target audience lets dance and enjoy ourselves. An ethical consideration that me and my pair would have to take in mind is the translation of the lyrics or a understandable storyline for the video enabling other ethnicities to enjoy the song and have some sort of idea what it is about.

Target Audience: After careful consideration me and my pair have decided to place the target audience 16- 25 year olds. This is because I believe that the issue addressed in the narrative idea corresponds with the daily lifestyle of people these ages therefore this video would intend to aspire them and not give up hope. They can also understand that music is a source of refuge and distraction from current situations. Additionally the audience in that age range usually tend to get stressed very easily and forget how to have fun whilst young and enjoy themselves from time to time. Channel for Broadcast: Youtube and Twitter are frequently used by the target audience, the use of these social platforms would draw more attention to the promo video. The target group we aim to please are digital natives and would notice a new video more if it is where they are able to reach it thereby stimulating word of mouse on the common social networking 14 - 25 year olds use and leading to more sales of the track due to the video.
