Case study 3-Diamond Platnumz FT mr Flavour NANA

Synopsis:The song is about falling for someone/ having a crush on someone you just met and you know deep inside that they are one, in which you will give them all the world if you can, they inspire you and making you happy , meaning you are determined to be with them no matter what. This song is just based on happiness and have strong love for the other person. The translation of this song is shown but the lyrics but as well as the dancing this is a typical Afro-beats song, where a lot of dancing is involved within the song. In the music video the main male (artist) sees a girl for the first time and falls for her and the rest of the music video is him displaying his happiness of him loving her by dancing.

Common Themes :
Love and Happiness: The  common themes within this song is love and happiness. Someone being happy because the artist has finally discovered real love in which he expresses through his dancing as well as the role play within the music video, dancing is an art that in Africa in which mostly represents happiness and love.

Representation of the actors/actress:
Main male in this music video is represented as average teenager with a lot of "swag" however with a soft spot and a lover boy.

Main female in this video is represented as a a precious and beautiful being, she was dressed quite swag but really modest unlike other music videos that portray woman in a negative light.

Post Modern Elements:
No post modern elements are used in this video as it mainly contain young people who seem to be under 25. All the special effects, editing techniques and mise en scene are modernised because the main targeted audience are the young generation.

 the lip sync within this video is minimal Very minimal only at certain points within the video there is few lip sync, the lip sync was consistent at the beginning of the music video however getting to the middle it was less consistent

Target Audience:
The main targeted audience for this music video if the young generation hence the style of the music and the music video incorporating the common and popular fashion styles of the the young generation as well as the  up beat tune that is popular in this day and age. The song is encouraging the young generation to fall in love and take risks for love.

What I really like and will take from this video is the use of both singing and dancing and how the director  have incorporated both of this styles within the music video and it fitting the story line, within my music video i will try to incorporate the dancing in my course work but what i do know what i have to do is making sure the dancing in the video must fit with the story line othervise it will just appear to look wrong.

CASE STUDY OF MUSIC VIDEO-ELASTIC HEART SIA 2/3

Synopsis: There are only two people in the music video, this music video is more artistic and conceptional dancing involved  and you will need to be open minded to understand the layout of the song, there was a lot of controversy of the releasing of the music video because no one really got the point of the video, the video is more abstract for it is raw and about one's emotions and how love is just a wrestling match and is unfair. 

Conceptual/Narrative/Performance based: The lyrics  are about the inner feelings of a woman, and is about how love has always been a war for her in which she has never been able to conquer, however now she wanted to love but within the relationship she knew something was not right in her relationship but still took the risks however that was not a calculated risk because she still got hurt, but from this experience she will never ever trust anyone again , however in the future she will still takes risks but will bounce back and will never get hurt again  she will easily bounce back and easily move on in the future, she also stated to never let her weaknesses overcome her and to never let her weakness show.

Themes and Motifs
The common themes of this music video is love and war. Love always being a type of war woth your other half and the person that gets hurt the most wine however near to the end you find out that it is an endless battle due to the fact both parties will get hurt in the love and war there is no overall winner, Another motive within this song is that love and and war has no pity for no one even if you are already weak and scared like a little girl you will get hurt.

Representation of Stars:
Actor 1: The main actor in the video is a middle aged old man who's appearance seems fairly scary but to the audience he is seen as a cave man die to his costume which is a basic white shorts he looks like he is ready to fight.

Actor 2:  The main female is a lot more younger compared to the main male, she looks young and vulnerable. The young girl represents purity, innocence and vulnerability. The costume  is a nude which represents no lock on her emotions.

No post modern elements are used in this video, all the special effects, editing techniques and mise en scene are modernised to reflect the main audience age group.

Props The main prop in this music video is a bird cadge which represents a fighting cadge, but also people looking in within your relationship and finally the cadge also symbolizes the relationship of always being a war.

Ideas
what i take from this music video is describing the artist feeling can be done by dancing and that lip sync is not necessary there is other forms of art that can be used. I plan to incorporate dancing within my course work
